The spaceThe A-frame has a timeless appeal with its original stone wood-burning fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling custom windows offer breathtaking views of the lake, transforming the living space into a serene observatory where you can enjoy a view of the wildlife that inhabits the lake and surrounding area, such as beavers, loons, blue herons, deer and moose. Sliding glass doors seamlessly connect the interior to our deck, inviting you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors
NOTE: Can accommodate 6 people, but with our cabin being around 730 sq/ft, it is best suited to fit 4 people. And your dog (two max.)
With three bedrooms at your disposal, you're sure to find the perfect sleeping arrangement. A particular guest favorite is the loft bedroom, featuring a cozy queen-sized bed. Its elevated position offers a unique perspective of the cottage and surrounding natural beauty. You’ll find it easy to have a lazy morning with comfy beds and linens, as well as blackout curtains.
Unwind on the spacious dock (with room to dock your boat), perfect for savoring your morning coffee or toasting the sunset with a cold beverage. Gather around the firepit, just a stone’s throw from the cottage, and enjoy an outdoor game of ring toss as the day melts away. Take a refreshing plunge from the dock or cast a line into the abundant waters, and experience the great fishing Gibson Lake has to offer.
LOCATION
This cottage is a short 15 minute drive to the town of Bala. This classic Muskoka town has all of your necessities, from a grocery store to LCBO & pharmacy.
Bala is a quaint town in the heart of Muskoka. Located at the convergence of Lake Muskoka and the Moon River, downtown Bala is a must-visit small town, known for its diverse range of events and businesses. Filled with unique shops, and delectable dining options, indulge in the fresh flavors of Muskoka's culinary scene.
A staple in Bala is Don’s Bakery. They have been a sweet and tasty tradition for many local and seasonal residents of the area since 1947. Don’s is one of the few scratch bakeries left utilizing the finest ingredients to produce handmade, goodies.
And don’t miss the Tuesday nights ski shows in the summer. Since the 60s, Ski Shows have been a quintessential summer tradition in Muskoka.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
We’re located just 15 minutes from McCrea Conservation Area, with scenic trails that wind through the rugged Muskoka landscape. Hikers can explore peaceful forested paths, rocky outcrops, and serene lakeside views, making it a perfect place to connect with nature.
McCrea Conservation Area is also a great spot for rock climbing. Offering a variety of climbing routes on beautiful granite cliffs, with options for both beginner and experienced climbers. The area features solid rock, and stunning views of the surrounding forest, making it one of the region’s top climbing destinations. Whether you're looking to boulder, sport climb, or top rope, there’s something for everyone. Muskoka Mountainworks can provide expert rock climbing guides to help you navigate the area safely and confidently.

We are a three-season cottage, meaning we are operational May to October.

Guest accessEntire cabin, 2 acres of forest and 265 feet of shoreline are yours to explore.
• A canoe (4 person), 2 kids kayaks, loon and beaver FLOAT-EH, life jackets for all sizes are provided for guests.
• Propane BBQ as well as a small charcoal BBQ (bring your own charcoal)
• Fire pit (outdoor firewood not provided)
• Board games, puzzles and cards are available for guests.
• WiFi is available, but can be spotty. Therefore we provide ample DVDs for rainy days.
• Self check-in with a smart lock & personalized passcode.
• Muskoka chairs on deck, dock and fire pit area.
• Yoga mats for your dockside yoga.

• We allow two well behaved dogs at one time.
Additional notes• Drip coffee machine & local Muskoka Roastery Coffee provided during your stay.
• Well equipped kitchen with essential amenities and appliances (stove top, fridge, microwave). Olive oil and spices provided.
• Outdoor beach towels are not provided. Hand towels for kitchen, bath towels and face clothes are provided.
• Bed linens & pillows for all beds, throw blankets for inside the cottage and outdoor blankets provided. As well as mattress heaters for in the colder months.
• Hand soap and dish soap as well as basic cleaning supplies supplied.

Neighborhood overviewOur A-frame is located in a quiet bay of a 3-chain lake system called Gibson Lake. (Little Gibson, North Gibson and South Gibson Lake). Gibson Lake borders on the Wahta Mohawk Territory.
This cottage is a 15 minute drive north to the quaint town of Bala. This classic Muskoka town has a grocery store, LCBO, Beer Store, butcher, as well as restaurants and shopping.
Getting aroundWe suggest that you back down. If you are uncomfortable with this, we suggest you park at the top of the laneway at the turn around area on Mohawk Road (not blocking any entrances) and walk down. We have space to park two vehicles directly behind the A-frame.
